  1. Mammographic density was expressed as the percentage of the breast composed of dense tissue by using a semi-quantitative method [21]. The outcome of linear regression models was percentage mammographic density. Models were adjusted for body mass index (kg/m2, continuous), age (continuous), and current smoker (versus former or never smoker). Recent hormone users were defined as women who had stopped taking hormone therapy for PEPI.
