Cytokines in tumor mice expressing the polyoma virus antigen and heterozygote for the collagen-1α chain mutation (COL) and wild-type (WT) tumor microenvironments are inherently distinct. a Cytokine levels from whole WT and COL mammary tumor lysates determined by chemiluminescent Mouse Cytokine ELISA Plate Array. Results are expressed as fold change: WT readings are normalized to COL readings (gray) to show cytokines upregulated in WT tumors, and COL readings are normalized to WT readings (red) to show cytokines upregulated in COL tumors. Blue line denotes a two-fold increase (n = 4 independent tumors). b Table indicates cytokines with a two-fold increase or greater. NGF nerve growth factor, PDGF platelet-derived growth factor, Rantes regulation on activation, normal T-cell expressed and secreted, SCF stem cell factor, MIP macrophage inflammatory protein, MCP monocyte chemoattractant protein, GM-CSF granulocyte monocyte-colony stimulated factor, EGF epidermal growth factor, IFN interferon, FGF fibroblast growth factor, VEGF vascular endothelial growth factor, IGF insulin-like growth factor
