Overexpressing BCAR3 antagonizes transforming growth factor βinduced cytoskeleton rearrangement. (a) SUM-159-PT cells were transfected with FLAG-tagged AND-34, starved and treated with or without 200 pM transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) for 24 hours, then subjected to immunofluorescence microscopy. In the merged images, FLAG-tagged AND-34 is shown in green, F-actin is shown in red and cell nuclei are shown in blue (4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI)). The results are representative of two independent experiments. (b) The lengths of stress fibers are quantified from five cells in pairs per condition on different LSM780 confocal microscopic images. Error bars show standard error of the mean. An asterisk indicates statistical significance (*P < 0.05) as determined by unpaired Student’s t-test.
