Nodal blocking antibody reduces human breast cancer cell survival. A dose dependent increase in apoptosis was observed by flow cytometric analysis with the most significant effect obtained with 4 μg/ml of Nodal blocking antibody in both MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 human breast cancer cells. This pro-apoptotic effect was confirmed by the reduction in the expression of BCL2α in both MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 breast cancer cells, which was most pronounced with 4 μg/ml of Nodal blocking antibody.
