OC differentiation and resorption are potentiated by the presence of MMPs. PBMCs were cultured on plastic (A) or on Biocoat matrices (C) with M-CSF and RANKL for three days and then with the addition of CM, PTHrP-CM or IL-8-CM for further four days. MMP inhibitors (10 μM GM6001 and 10 μg/ml CL-82198) were added at Day 1 of culture. TRAP staining was performed at Day 7.
