Table 2 Half-maximal effective concentration values for apoptosis

From: α-TEA cooperates with chemotherapeutic agents to induce apoptosis of p53 mutant, triple-negative human breast cancer cells via activating p73

Cell line α-TEA (μM) DOXO (μM) CDDP (μM)
MDA-MB-231 41.7 46.5 70.8
BT-20 45.4 25.7 64.0
MDA-MB-468 35.4 8.5 40.7
  1. Cells were treated with different concentrations of α-TEA, doxorubicin (DOXO), and cisplatin (CDDP) for 24 hours. Apoptosis was determined by annexin V-FITC/PI staining/fluorescence-activated cell sorter analysis as described in Material and methods. The concentration that achieved 50% apoptosis (half-maximal effective concentration) was determined using commercially available software (Calcusyn; Biosoft, Manchester, UK).
