Effects of CaR agonist and antagonist on growth inhibition caused by ibandronate in cancer cells. MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cells were incubated for 72 hours with 30 μmol/l ibandronate (Iban) and/or calcium-sensing receptor (CaR) agonist in culture medium containing 0.6 mmol/l calcium, or with 30 μmol/l ibandronate and/or CaR antagonist in culture medium containing 1.6 mmol/l calcium. Cell culture densities were evaluated by crystal violet staining assay. Data are presented as percentages (mean ± standard deviation) of control values, which refer to culture with 0.6 mmol/l calcium and without drugs.
